Hola and thanks for finding your way to our brand new blog, let us introduce ourselves and tell you a bit about it. We are Megan and Anja, two Spanish Majors at Central Michigan University and we are ecstatic to announce that we will be studying abroad in the Dominican Republic this fall! Words can’t express how excited we are to delve into another culture and become immersed in a language we have studied for so many years. Our blog will be updated weekly (or more) in order to ensure that we fully record our experience. Each post will have a Spanish translation to make our blog accessible to Spanish speakers (and partly so that we can see how our grammar and vocabulary improve!) Although we have decided to start this blog in the summer (pre-language immersion) in order to document our pre-trip jitters, feelings, and expectations, we’ll continue with the trend of writing a Spanish translation for each post. We hope you find our blog entertaining, interesting, and (hopefully) funny. Our aim is to inspire others to travel abroad, lend helpful tips to those who plan to, and give enjoyment to those reading about our endeavors both at home and abroad.
