Trip to Cayo Arena

This has been my favorite trip that I have been on here in the DR (so far)! I woke up at 6 A.M ready to be on our way to this amazing little island! We jumped in the van and it took us two hours to reach our destination, but when we got there is was so worth it. First we went to a beautiful beach that had baby blue water that was so calm. This beach had food places as far as you could see and amazing music blasting. I’m sorry I don’t know the name of this beach but it is located in Villa Isabela.

We are getting ready to leave for Paradise Island and I am not seeing the island from the shore. I am already not a huge fan of boats and we have to go on a “little” boat. So I just get in not knowing what to expect and we are off. About 5 mins into the boat ride and I still don’t see this island. All of the sudden, our boat starts to slow down and the person driving the boat tells us that our boat motor has broken down. JUST MY LUCK! So we have to wait another 15 mins for another boat to come get us and take the other boat with us as well. When we finally arrive on the island the broken down boat and long ride there was well worth it!

This place is heaven with its crystal clear water, white sand, and colorful fish that swim close to the tiny island. My first instinct when I arrive somewhere so breathtaking is to of course, take pictures! After I take all the pictures that I can, I finally put my camera down and explore! We jumped in the water that didn’t past your knees and we found amazing colorful fish all around us. We were on the island for a good two hours. When we got on the boat and started going over all the waves I started to realize how burnt my butt was and then I was worried how much of a lobster I was going to look like later that day. Of course I was red as hell later, but it was so worth it! I also took videos of the island and I am going to post them on here as well.

If any of you ever get a chance to visit the northern part of the DR, PLEASE check this place out yourself.

Love,
Megan
